this wednesday was a busy one.  after the usual grind at the day job, i rolled over to nextdoor to visit chris and silkscreen a few i <3 HI items for the first friday party.  i snapped a few flicks, pulled a few screens, and hung out with some friends.

from there i headed over to jazz minds to catch the deadbeats doing their usual wednesday evening gig.  it was great as usual, the house was packed, and since my camera was on hand anyway i decided to shoot them.  i used a different lens than the usual and like the way the photos turned out…mostly black and white, straight flash, simplicity and perhaps taking things from a different angle than before are the order of the day for me.  i think that after years of shooting things like this its an evolutionary process to want to capture things in a different light.

it was a good evening out, and it felt good to shoot these guys again after such a long time of not shooting them.  if you haven’t already, check the deadbeats out!
