when i imagine some who’s living a “jet set life,” i see some sort of new-school yuppie toolbox with a bluetooth headset, greasy hair, and designer shades.  in other words, the stereotypical “i have obnoxiously loud conversations on my cel phone while riding the elevator” kind of guy.  you know, the one you have to deal with every now and then, the guy you secretly hope has something awful happen them later, like spilling a piping hot lowfat no-whip double latte on his lap while he’s driving in traffic and text messaging.

if i ever end up like that a good friend of mine is supposed to kill me in my sleep.  i even have it in writing.  buuuut.  that’s neither here nor there i suppose.  the real reason for this jet-set segue was to bring up the point that this weekend was, as the title would imply, mostly epic.  and just a little jet-setty.  friday i was on a kona bound flight, then a green fashion panel hosted by nella media group, hawaii red magazine, and hifi, then an after party, then a killer beach resort where i spent the night sleeping in a hammock under the stars.

saturday was an all-day thing…first production duties for my client, then an eco-conscious fashion show held at the super green NELHA facility outside of kona, then the after party-party-party.  i was up at 8am, back to bed at 3am.  i haven’t had my hands get tired from gripping a camera in a long time but lugging a long telephoto and a strobe around for 5+ hours will do that to ya.

sunday we ate, packed, barely made our flight, and from the airport it was straight off to haleiwa town for the b-ware ad shoot.  i got to board a catamaran, toss back a few beers, cruise the north shore, watch whales, see a double rainbow, kick it with the friends, catch the sunset, and rattle off the craziest copy i’ve shot for an ad in a long, long, time.  look for it coming to a few magazines near you in the next few months, it will be amazing.  and look out for the flicks from the fashion show and after parties, also coming soon.

so yeah, when i say that this weekend was cool, and it was epic…it was.  mostly.
