as part of a collaborative drop shadows project, i shot a series of ghetto-rigged white background images last week.  2x canon flashes, set full manual, and a handful of some very interesting folks.  this series included a few chinatown friends as well as the members of the band the city, formerly known as at sea.

the shoot was intimate, closeup, and very off the cuff.  the inspiration was a classic photo booth style of photography, with the camera clicking at set intervals regardless of the readiness of the subject.  i liked the images captured, they were definitely more personal, and less pretentious than, say, a staged fashion event or commercial ad work.

good stuff, good times.
