the groundup fam has recently taken an interest in promoting the talents of the many designers, models, makeup artists, and of course photographers that have always done work with groundup.  they have started the all-new groundup modelling agency.  its a smart move, allowing some extremely talented folks to pool their resources to help move everyone in the collective forward.  i was invited to contribute a few photographs featuring an agency model to the launch party, which was at the design center this past friday night.

last week was incredibly busy for me, so i didn’t have time to shoot this thing until the night before.  so, thursday night found me on bishop st at 9PM with one of my favorite local designers, matt bruening, and erica miguel, my designated agency model for the night.  without any real time to hash concepts, looks, or ideas at all i decided to do what i do best…that is, wing it.  a fast portrait lens, some on-camera color correction, and about an hour’s shutter time yielded a few very nice images.  i’m sharing them here.

as always, post-production was minimal, and involved some basic gamma correction, cropping, and sharpening.  this was a super fun creative exercise and a fast, effective little shoot.  it was printed, mounted, and on display less than 20 hours after i shot it.  thanks a million matt and erica for coming through in the clutch, and i only took one digital photo of the finished images at the design center (its from my iphone, i was in lomo mode friday night).  enjoy and sorry the gallery gets all hashed when i use images with different aspect ratios.
