as part of a series of three advertising images, b-ware has hired me to photograph three ads.  called the “where’s waldo” series, these photos will feature densely packed, action filled vignettes with narrative and a compelling setting.  the first image in the series was shot on a catamaran out in haleiwa.  only a few of the models are actually wearing b-ware gear…its a subtle way to suck viewers into the piece, and to brand the clothing line with a fun setting and context.  the “where’s waldo” concept is a reference to the small part the actual line plays in the ad.

i linked up with the models and production crew at haleiwa, took an epic cruise that involved whale watching and a few of the homies, and around late dusk we pulled back into the harbor, set everyone up with their positions, adjusted lighting, and like magic this image materialized.  actual shutter time was less than 10 minutes.  some projects have a mystical 4-leaf clover hidden in them somewhere, and this was definitely one of those instances.

peep the ad in print, coming to a fine streetwear magazine near you…and if you ain’t heard of b-ware before, you should really get on it.  its beach/surf wear with an urban edge, available at the finest streetwear boutiqes, including locally at aloha army, brought to you by my homies over at in4mation.  good stuff.  this was easily the most fun i’ve had with a commercial gig in a loooong time, great vibes and good times.  can’t wait to shoot part two.

I live in Jacksonville Beach, Florida and one of the models in the far background with curly hair and blue sunglasses is my son Scott. I love the picture. Thanks for sharing. Sherry
