this past friday, dj and producer extraordinaire diplo was down at nextdoor to screen mad decent’s documentary on baile funk, favela on blast.  besides the documentary screening (which was amazing, by the way), dj’s mr nick and jami rocked sets before diplo started wrecking the house with his signature sound.  while diplo’s best known around the country for his noted production projects (including M.I.A.), his signature baile funk sound on the 1s and 2s is where his musical roots lie.

this was one of nextdoor’s first major events since its reopening, and with dope ass live visuals by the drop shadows, a crowd of party people, and that super rad nextdoor vibe, it was a great way to welcome back my favorite bar.

i snapped a few photos and enjoyed a night back at my favorite venue.  it was a great night.
