where we are today is a direct result of where we were yesterday.  that simple truth applies to what we just did a minute ago, but like every other universal fact that defines the human condition, it can also apply to the timespan between our great grandparents and our children’s children.  for better or worse where we came from defines where we are headed, what defines us as people is the way we choose to respond to our past.

the obon season is the time of year we remember those who came before us, and thank them for making the lives we have possible.  a few weekends ago i took the evening off to have a few beers, barbeque, hang out with a few of my favorite people, and enjoy the bon dance.

of course the camera was in tow, and of course i snapped a few photos.  and maybe an andagi or three.  enjoy.
