a while ago, i was hired to photograph the open mic at coffee talk. the rising melody is a small, youth-oriented open mic session that encourages kids with musical talent to put themselves out there. its a great, positive environment where young musicians can cut their teeth performing.

its always exciting to see what the next generation is shaping up to be. i’m not exactly old but seeing kids 10-15 years younger than me playing their music was inspirational, and made me wonder what kinds of music they would be making when they’re my age. amazing.
