there are times when a project can also mean a collision of several layers of my life. the latest, self-titled recording effort put forth by the fellas at go jimmy go is one of them. take a band i’ve loved since i was in high school back in like 1997, a friend and colleague from the drop shadows, and my friends in the band itself and all of a sudden i’ve got a project that encompasses my past, my professional life, and my friendships.
it’s an incredible feeling to be involved in designing an album cover for a band that i’ve always admired. i shot a series of photographs of go jimmy go a while back, and those photos eventually ended up being worked into an amazing two-tone ska/traditional hawaiian layout laced up by joe pa`ahana. when working with a group of extremely talented friends, the energy and dynamic just pushes the whole project to another level. i wish everything i did went this easily.
another dropshadows project for the books.
