given my line of work, i get to see a lot of live music.  a lot of really good live music.  exclusive access to consistently solid local and national talent that comes through this state is a music nerd’s best friend, and i am always so stoked and grateful to be where i am right now, doing exactly what i get to do.  it’s just amazing.

probably the only drawback to seeing all of this great talent is that it can be hard to keep things subjective.  i know objectivity is what most people strive for but the problem is, i spend a lot of time during a show focusing on the technical details involved in shooting that show.  and so it gets hard to let my guard down, leave everything hanging out (figuratively speaking) and just have plain old fashioned fun instead of objectifying my work.

i don’t want to name names or play favorites, but while all the shows i get to see showcase amazing music, some are more fun than others.  the bambu show at nextdoor was the most fun i’ve had in some time, i got to spend it right in front of stage, and the energy, the vibe, the friends, the message, and of course the show itself was dope.

my favorite show in some time.
